Sunshine Coast’s In-home Dog Training

Sit Drop Stay offers in-home consultations in the Sunshine Coast region with dog obedience and training specialists who can help you have a more rewarding relationship with your dog. One that is based on true leadership and trust rather than treats or punishments.

Our dog trainers teach you how to communicate effectively with your dog using a simple and natural approach that both empowers you and is respectful to your dog. You will be amazed at how quickly your dog will connect with you and follow your commands after just one session with a Sit Drop Stay dog trainer.

Sunshine Coast’s leading dog training

We believe that for dogs to be able to develop into happy and balanced members of society they need a balance of positive reinforcement and discipline, creating stability and fulfilment for them. Boundaries, limitations and saying “no” are just as important as praise and reward – and each has its place and correct application. However, we don’t believe that punishment, violence, fear and intimidation have any place in building healthy relationships with our canine companions. In our personalised one-one-one sessions we show you how you can foster trust and respect from your dog and achieve the status of loving leader.

Sit Drop Stay Sunshine Coast offers dog behaviour and dog training throughout the Sunshine Coast area including: Buderim, Bli Bli, Beerwah, Caloundra, Coolum, Eumundi, Golden Beach, Melany, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Noosa, Noosaville, Peregian Beach, Sunshine beach and Tewantin.

How we work

We believe in-home dog obedience training is the most effective and easiest way to establish a solid foundation of training and create the dog you want, giving faster results, with sessions that are tailored especially to your individual needs.

  • We focus on creating a calm and co-operative dog.
  • We believe the state of mind your dog is in when it receives a reward is more important than their physical action.
  • We use the language your dog understands.
  • We teach you how loving leadership and connection can change your dog’s behaviour and result in a more successful relationship.

With over 25 years of experience, we have consistently found that one-on-one personalised dog obedience training give superior results compared to group classes, which is why we offer this exclusively. Whilst group classes offer fun and stimulation to your dog, they are not designed or able to address behavioural issues or to educate and empower you as the owner.

5 star. Absolutely amazing and extremely friendly saw results as soon Carolyn left. Carolyn took the time to sit and explain everything as well as show me how to do it correctly. Love the idea it was one on one. Would recommend to anyone Sandie – Sunshine Coast

I had Carolyn come to our house on the Sunshine Coast. Our 7 month old dog was displaying all the issues in the video’s on the site besides the excessive barking. Within minutes of her arrival the dog was calm, which was amazing as normally it takes him 20 mins to calm down when someone arrives. She didn’t even speak to him and he knew what to do. Was amazing to watch. We learnt how our behaviour was confusing to the dog and hence why he was so hyperactive. We also were not using the right leads etc for him. So now with all the right equipment and guidance from Carolyn we have a different dog. We went from barely being able to walk him to taking him for a family day out to the park and beach on weekend, which he did so well and was so well behaved. We have all learnt how to relate to each other better so the dog knows his place in the family. Worth every cent and thanks again Carolyn 🙂 Belinda Sentence – Sunshine Coast

We would like to thank Carolyn for her visit to us. We have seen a big change in Harvey, our Mini foxie, in such a short time. Carolyn was able to explain Harvey’s social aggression and show us how to correct his behaviour, the results were almost instant and Harvey is a much calmer and happier dog, as is his owners! Maria and Mark Robson – Sunshine Coast

Clyde and I would like to say a very big thank you to Carolyn for helping us. Clyde is a much happier, relaxed and manageable little mate since you saw us a couple of weeks ago. We love our walks now and at home he hardly barks at all. He is calm, and happy. We are often stopped on our walks as people think he is gorgeous and want to talk about him. I am very grateful to you. Telling everyone I know with doggie problems about you, Thanks. Happy for this to be posted as a testimonial. Jayne – Margate
